Yacht racing this evening again on our friends boat, I had the helm at the start and we were pretty much right on the line at the start so got away quite well, even if it was a bit tight with the other boats on the line, we started this week with a long beat all the way down the river, unfortuantly we had lost some ground on some of the other boats in our fleet, still once we rounded the windward mark we got the spinaker up and started gaining ground and going past a few boats, we had moved a little way up the field before the start of the next beat, and managed to keep our advantage on the windward leg, then it was back up with the spinaker to aim for the finish line. We had a really good sail with force 3 winds and blue sky and sunshine, the only downpoint was our disqualification as we missed the final mark, it seemed that they changed the course between the first gun and the start, and it transpires they are entitled to change the course up to 10 minutes before the start so we missed a buoy, but I don't think we were the only ones to get caught out, and at least we know to double check for the next race.
